Elmex Glazuur Protection Professional Tandpasta heeft een unieke micro protection technologie en is klinisch bewezen. De actieve ingredienten worden direct naar het tandoppervlak vervoerd om de eerste microscopische beschadigingen wordt voorkomen. Er wordt een beschermlaag gevormd om het glazuur te beschermen tegen frequente zuuraanvallen. daarnaast versterk en beschermt Aminfluoride de tanden tegen cariës. Glazuurverlies kan op deze manier significant worden verminderd.

Tanderosie

Glazuur is de buitenste beschermlaag van de tand. Ondanks dat glazuur de hardste substantie in het lichaam is, wordt het dagelijks blootgesteld aan zuuraanvallen van fruit, groentes of sappen en afslijting. Dit kan het glazuur aantasten en de tand verzwakken. Het glazuur word dunner en poreus worden en zijn kracht verliezen. Dit heet ook wel tanderosie.
